Urban K9 was founded in 2010 with a simple goal: to help people build better relationships with their dogs through clear communication, structure and practical training that works in everyday life.
I’m Brenda, the owner and trainer behind Urban K9.
Over the years, I’ve worked with dogs of different breeds, ages, temperaments and behavioural challenges. One thing I’ve learned is that dog training isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Every dog is different. Every family is different. And the training needs to make sense for both.

My education as a dog trainer didn’t stop when Urban K9 opened in 2010. I’ve continued to learn from experienced trainers, attend workshops and seminars, and study different training methods and approaches.
Years of hands-on experience have also taught me that there is no single method that works for every dog. I believe in understanding the dog in front of me and using clear, fair communication to build skills that work in real life.

Continuing Education
My education has taken me beyond the classroom and into hands-on workshops, seminars and training programs with respected dog trainers from different backgrounds and training philosophies.
I continue to invest in my education because dog training is always evolving. Learning different approaches gives me more tools to understand the individual dog in front of me — rather than trying to fit every dog into the same training method.
